Community involvement and volunteering

At Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust that by working together with our community we can improve our services. Explore the information below to see how you can get involved.

Participation and volunteering

Our Participation Partners, which include volunteers and patient representatives, are part of the team. They complement the work of our paid staff to help our patients, carers, visitors, and staff. They provide invaluable support and make a real difference to people’s lives.

We are recruiting and welcome new participation partners to join our dedicated team. Visit the main trust website to get involved.

We also have a range of strategic opportunities including;

Equalities Advisory Group

The Equalities Advisory Group is an advisory group whose members can identify with or who have experience of, one or more of the nine protected characteristics and/or other groups who could experience inequality.

The aim of the group is to help identify, and seek mitigations for, any potential or actual impacts that our policies or functions may have on different groups of people who could experience inequality.

The group is involved in the monitoring and scrutiny of equality issues in relation to service development, transformation and change management programmes, the Equality Delivery System (EDS), and policy and strategy documentation.

Youth Board

Youth Board provides a voice for young people to ensure the services we provide are effective and accessible.

We involve members of our Youth Board in both the continuing developments of existing services and when we’re designing new ones.

Youth Board members are also invited to sit on recruitment panels and ensure the wider views of young people are represented throughout everything we do. It provides an invaluable forum for the Trust, while also supporting young people to gain experience and boost their confidence.
